“Levski” is the most popular club in Bulgaria, well known as the "team of the people".
Build back in 1914, Sports club Levski has 41 teams in different sports.
Levski had won 16 olympic gold, 24 silver and 17 bronze medals. Also Levski representatives won 89 world individual titles, 142 european titles and 3 team cups in basketball, voleyball and track and field.
Legendary athletes from levski are such a names like: Boyan Radev, Tanyo Kiryakov, Vanya Gesheva, Aleksandar Tomov, Ivanka Hristova, Yordanka Donkova, Petkana Makaveeva, Nadka Golcheva, Tanya Gogova, Yordanka Blagoeva i many others.
All researches so far in the country are saying 66.7 % from the fans in Bulgaria are supporting Levski. After soccer, basketball is the most popular and loved sport in Bulgaria.
Basketball club is build in 1923 and won 17 times the championship of the country and 12 times the Cup of Bulgaria. Many times Levski participated on international level as well.
With golden letters in the history of basketball in Bulgaria will be written the names of: Iliya Mirchev, Mincho Dimov, Atanas Peychinski, Hristo Doychinov, Atanas Golomeev, Georgi Mladenov and etc.
