The men’s team of Levski started preparation for the new season. Four players attended the first two practices earlier today. The guards Rostislav Dikov, Yulian Radionov and Zlatin Georgiev plus the forward Pavel Ivanov were the only players at practices. Te worked around one hour with the conditioning coach Georgi Draganov, then only Yulian Radionov continued with him while all the rest were available for work with the head coach Lubomir Minchev.
It is expected American Rob Preston to join the team later on. The National Team players were all missing as well as they are still playing qualification for Eurobasket 2007 in Spain.
Veselin Veselinov, Stanislav Slaveykov and Stefan Georgiev all left for Budapest for the last game versus Hungary while the center Nikolay Varbanov was dropped from the squad.
All of them will be available right after the end of qualifications.
The new signing Hristo Zahariev is still doing recovering therapy of his injured ankle but is expected to show up Wednesday for first practice. The other talent who signed with the men’s team Aleksandar Gogov removed his tonsils and will be out until the end of the month. Still out are Tsvetelin and Iskren Ivanov and while Tsvetelin will be back very soon Iskren is not expected to come back in the next few months.
