Asen Velikov is the new player of Levski. 21 years old guard will be available for tomorrow at 10.00 o’clock for first practice with his new team.
Last year he played 29 games for Lukoil Academic and managed 4.9 points in 13.5 minutes per game. He was champion and holder of the Cup of Bulgaria but he couldn’t get that much of playing time under old coaching staff. Despite that fact he was included in the roster of Bulgarian national team for additional qualifications for Eurobasket 2007.
After arrival of Nenad Djoric and signing with Antonio Burks the chances of young talented player to get chance to play got even smaller and he agreed to leave the club. Yulian Radionov is the first choice of point guard in Levski but he suffered injury back in March during the Final Four for Cup of Bulgaria. Now with Velikov, Levski will solve the problem of playmaker position.
Its very much possible he will make a debut for his new team Tuesday night when Levski is playing with Slavia friendly game in Triaditsa hall at 17.30 local time.
The men's team of Levski played their first friendly game since they came back from the preparation from Belmeken. The opponent was the champion of Bulgaria Lukoil Academic. Levski lost by the score 68-95 in Triaditsa Hall in Sofia. Only in the first quarter Levski stayed close as they were trailing by two points (19-21).
