The team of Levski made tonight their second win in this year’s championship. “The Blues” defeated with 81-69 one of the contenders for the top of the table Spartak in Pleven . The guests from Sofia played a very strong last quarter and therefore celebrated after the last signal.
The game started tied and none of the teams succeeded to go ahead even for a while. Thus after the first period the result was 20-18 in favour of Levski. During the second part, the hosts woke up and took the advantage as the teams went to the locker rooms with 3 points advance for Spartak (35-32).
After the break, Pleven was leading by 5, but very soon Levski come back into the game and grabbed the things in their hands. Obviously, Levski were the better team on the court until the end of the fight and won by 14 points difference.
Five players from Levski finished with more than 10 points, and the one to score most was Stanislav Slaveykov – 17 points and 13 rebounds. The captain Stefan Georgiev made a double-double – 11 points and 12 rebounds.
For Spartak Pleven Tsvetislav Ostrev finished with 18 points.
This coming Saturday Levski play away at Lukoil Academic in Pravets. The game starts at 18.00 o'clock local time.
