Levski lost their second friendly game against Apolon Limassol, which was played earlier today in Hristo Botev Hall in Sofia. After their win with 2 overtime last night (114-111), today the Blues were ahead most of the time, but some experiments by coach Titi Papazov in the closing minutes let the cypriot team to take a lucky win - 87-84.
After 30 minutes of play Levski had a comfortable 12-point lead (70-58), and at this point Papazov took out 2 of his key players - Marcus Hall and Stefan Georgiev. This decision immediately made a difference, and Levski didn't score for almost 5 minutes, which allowed Apolon to tie the score - 70-70.
Levski entered the last minute with 5 points advantage - 84-79, but the guest team got back in the game with a 3-pointer from Mike Robinson who tied it at 84-84. Levski was in possesion with 10 seconds left, but after a time out, former Lukoil player Petroslav Zafirov made a bad pass to Stanislav Slaveykov, and the cypriot team had the ball. Mike Robinson sealed the win with a buzzer beating three pointer.
Vasil Evtimov didn't play again. Petroslav Zafirov scored 22 points, and Stefan Georgiev added 17.
