Levski beat Beroe 07 in the derby of ninth round in women's NBL. The team from Sofia was better by 7 points at the end of the game – 70-63 so the players of coach Stefan Mihaylov got back on winning way after two consecutive defeats. The meeting was very close until the end, however the players of Levski were more focused and grabbed important victory. That was their fourth win as they do have also 4 losses while the visitors from Stara Zagora are with 5 wins and 3 defeats after this round of play.
The meeting started very well for Beroe 07 and only after few minutes on the court in Universiada hall they were up by 10 points. However Levski did not intend to give up and quickly managed to get close to your opponent for 19-24 at the end of first quarter. Early in the second ten minutes guests managed a series of 9-0 which put them again to lead by double-digit advance. Levski finished with their best, had seven unanswered points and cut the lead to only 4 points at the half time break.
Beroe hold to their lead for only 5 minutes in the second half. In the middle of the third quarter Levski had their first lead but before the start of the last ten minutes of play the score was 53-52 in favor of Levski. They managed to create a lead of 4-5 points later on and managed to maintain it until the last minute to deserved their important victory.
Agnes Doychinova played a great match and finished with a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds. Petya Djambazka added 16 points and 6 rebounds while former Beroe player Juanita Ward scored 15 points.
For Beroe Vera Perostiyska was above all with 20 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Zoya Stanoeva added 16 points and newly signed american Kaitlin Swoinski ended with double-double of 14 plus 13 rebounds.
