Official statement of BC LevskiJuly 03, 2014
BC Levski will not take part in the next season of Euroleague respectively Eurocup.
As is known, a champion of Bulgaria, Levski received an invitation from the Euroleague to participate in the qualifying tournament for entry into the group stage, and a guaranteed place in the Eurocup.
Unfortunately, the inability Levski at present to ensure forming a team of competitive class for competition such is Euroleague/Eurocup, management put the difficult decision to give up that great opportunity.
Over the past five and a half years Levski is in a unique financial stability and management of the team hopes to be able to keep that standard for the future.
The club remains in good relationship with the leadership of both European tournaments, which warmly accepted coach Konstantin Papazov during the meeting of all coaches in the Euroleague the past few days.
We are aware of stability of Levski for the next season, but at the moment the club can not provide more official information to serve the public.
Sincerely,
Management of BC Levski
